Being near the equator, Malaysia enjoys a tropical climate all year round with an adequate amount of hot sun and rain.

That being said, Malaysia experiences the “summer season” from June to August where the sun rays and temperature are at its  highest with less rainfall in these months which can make our skin feel a extra sensitive.

Sudden changes in weather will affect our emotions, not to mention our skin too. Being in the hot weather increases water loss from our bodies, leading to dehydration. When dehydrated, it can cause our skin to feel irritated and dry, making it more prone to sensitivity and redness.

While we experience the hot weather and topping it off with Malaysia’s humid climate, it will lead to more sweating, oily skin and clogged pores. As dead skin cells gets mixed with the excess sebum and sweat it can also trigger breakouts! So it is very important to cleanse our skin properly to remove dirt, sweat and any other impurities that may be trapped in the skin.

During the hot weather, it is simply a bliss to escape into the cold haven when it is hot and humid outdoors. Although it feels very comfortable, it can also place an impact on our skin. In fact, air conditioning pumps dry and cold air for a cooler space, reducing air humidity levels in the process. When humidity is low, our skin will lose its moisture and eventually feels dehydrated, dry and dull.
